To finish the interior of an existing agricultural building (barn) for conversion for use as an distressed animal treatment facility (animal hospital, kennels, etc), a conversion from "U" to "B" occupancy. A second level will continue to be used by the building owner for private storage & use, but not as a dwelling unit or commercial uses and will remain classified as an agricultural "U" occupancy. The difference in occupancy classifications will require a 1-hour occupancy separation floor/ceiling assembly and 1-hour protection of supporting walls, columns, & beams. The nearest existing building, located as shown on submitted plans, is approximately 25 feet from barn and is being computed as part of the same building per section 503.3 for buildings on same property. New interior non-bearing walls to be wood or metal frame construction with sheetrock covering; new accessible restroom; new occupancy separations; new ceiling finish; electrical, mechanical & plumbing upgrades to comply with current adopted codes.
