ST LUKES-WEST WING-1ST FLR, Phase "A" and Phase "B" - This review covers two fire alarm permit numbers, associated with two building permit numbers, being completed as one project. The project is to modify the existing manual and automatic hospital fire alarm system within both TI areas, with new initiating devices and strobes, connected to an existing fire alarm panel. The existing initiating circuit serving this TI area will be disconnected from FACP #9/circuit #1, and all devices in this TI area will be reconnected to a new circuit #4 on existing FACP #10, which then serve floors B through 4 of this wing. The alarm system includes a manual alarm system, fire sprinkler system monitoring, corridor area smoke detection for release of smoke dampers penetrating the corridor and induct detectors for release of other smoke dampers and strobes. Audible alarms are provided by the existing paging system per prior agreement under FIR99-00596. Duct detectors for HVAC are reportedly existing and not included in these permits. Building permit BLD 01-00539 (Phase A) is to remodel an 4,975 sq.ft. area located at the north end of the 1st floor to convert from patient rooms to offices. Work to include construction of interior non-bearing, non-combustible wall framing with fire-resistive sheetrock cover; new suspended ceiling grid system, electrical, mechanical & plumbing; interior floor & wall finish; sprinkler system; and construction of a portion of the 2-hour exit passageway that will serve as an extension of the interior two hour stair enclosure serving the upper floors; to install a new exterior exit system, stairs & entry between grid lines 'I' to 'K'. NOTE: Phase "B" will be remodeled under separate permit when Phase "A" is completed.
Building Permit BLD01-01630 (PHASE B) is to remodel the remaining 5,310 sq.ft. area on the south end of the 1st floor, West Wing, for SLRMC Administrative Offices. Work includes remodel of the existing interior stair enclosure and enclosure extension to the new exterior entry; interior non-bearing, non-combustible, fire-resistive walls to create 13 office / work areas; a conference room, housekeeping room, and open non-rated corridor / reception / waiting area; two new accessible restrooms; upgrade electrical, mechanical, plumbing, fire sprinkler & alarm systems and interior finishes as required for tenant needs and code compliance. This project will complete the remodel of the first floor. A "Letter of Compliance / Completion" is required for this permit.
NOTE: A "Certificate of Occupancy" for the 1st Floor West Wing Administrative offices is to be issued when BLD01-00539 (North end) & BLD01-01630 (South end) are completed and approved.
