California Market - Shopko Plaza - This permit is to install a new fire alarm system. The new system will include monitoring of the fire sprinkler system, all cooking hood extinguishing systems, duct smoke detectors for HVAC air handler shut down and smoke damper release, for the entire building; plus manual pull stations and a/v annunciation within the Bearly Grown, daycare E3 occupancy area only.
The associated building permit (BLD 02-02390) is to remodel for a new retail tenant in an existing 1,821 sq. ft. space per approved plans on file. Work to include miscellaneous interior demolition work, a new accessible restroom, one-hour rated tenant demising wall interior wall infill at former door opening, interior finish, new walk-in cooler, fire sprinkler work, plumbing work, and electrical work. A Certificate of Occupancy is to be issued when completed and approved. NOTE: This building is fully fire sprinklered for area increase.

North hvac unit in the Basilio's restraunt would not operate. It is locked out until it can be repaired and tested. Smoke detector over panel, battery troubles, phone lines and pull station have been tested. No other items tested. This initial test was just to get the restraunt a temp occupancy. discussed with Pat McKeegan; he has written Dave Miller proposing use of the IFC and his (McKeegan's) interpretation of its requirements to the new FA system. I will hold off doing a plan review of theis resubmittal until an answer is received from Dave Miller on FD's reply, specifically regarding extent of a/v alarms and pull stations.

Plans have major deficiencies. An E3/125 occupancy tenant necessitates the "builidng have a manual alarm system; improper method shown for release of smoke dampers; separation from contiguous Shopco "building" not indicated. These deficiencies discussed with Steve Larson, Peak Alarm 11/8; he will discuss with Pete Conlon Property Mgr. Written review to be sent out next week.
