Description	(BUILDING SHELL REMODEL) To modify an existing historic building. To install fire sprinkler on the west side of the basement with which includes include 2 restrooms, 2 basement stairways and 2 second floor stairways. There are structural upgrades to the building, which involve wood joists, steel columns, steel beams, and a steel braced frame. Only a portion of the basement will be fire sprinklered. The basement fire sprinkler system work shall comply with NFPA 13-1999, attached review comment and conditions list; as regulated by the Fire Chief. These notes, permit and fire "Inspection Card" are required to be on site as a condition of this work, to provide witness of compliance verification of minimum code. This permit is attached to building permit: BLD02-00542.

a. Water supply certificate is not on the same block as permitted work shown. Fire sprinkler contractor shall provide a current water supply certification for this system, addressed at point of connection.
b. Provide addressing and clarification of required forward flow testing of backflow preventer meeting 5-15.4.6.1 with accommodations for 10-2.6.
c. Provide detailed loads of pipe and zones being braced with correlation of earthquake details and locations. NFPA 13:8-1.1.1 (39)
d. Provide and show on the plans the required inspectors test. NFPA 13:8-1.1.1 (23)
e. Plans must include thrust-restraining requirements of the underground and how this contractor intends to suppress it meeting NFPA 13/24.
f. Provide an auxiliary drain (w/signage) for this system at the riser, since this system will not drain outside.
g. Provide the formula derived incorporating 7-2.3.2.4 on the plans.
h. Provide calculation node points on "Riser Detail" section, corresponding to calculations.
i. Provide hanger location for the mains.
