DetailsBill Alexander
1. The pipe chase from the basement to the first floor is not identified as being protected. Provide fire sprinkler protection, unless this shaft is completely fire rated and inaccessible.
2. Basement under-stairs storage is not completely protected. Provide complete protection that will cover under the landing, etc.
3. Hallway #106 (one of several areas identified with "furniture by others") lacks full fire sprinkler protection (shadowing of walls obstructing coverage). Revise and resubmit.
3. Main floor has a "Lighted Box" that is 6'-0" wide by 14'-0" long, and 1'-4" deep which appears to not be shown or compensated with protection on the drawings. Include all obstructions that can affect fire sprinkler operation and coverage within this permit in the plans. This shall include ceiling grids, lights, diffusers, etc.
4. Main floor system design does not meet exceptions for minimum requirements for the "Room Design Method", 7-2.3.3. Correct, revise plans and calculations and resubmit.
5. Calculations do not match cover sheets (area/density coverage).
6. Calculations shall correspond with piping and fitting input for the sprinkler head area spacing verifying. If designer is verifying a spacing of 225-ft/2, then calculations must have the same lengths and fittings plugged in to correspond with that spacing, including the added friction losses incorporated, or spacing allowed will match plan spacing exactly, with no exceptions!
7. NFPA 13 does not cover the spacing of hangers for CPVC to sprinkler head drop elbows. Provide detail or information covering the listing requirements of the same on the plan for installer and field inspector verification.
8. "Cover sheets" submitted was modified and lack identification of construction information addressed in NFPA 13:1-4.6, A-1-4.6. Provide correct "Cover Sheets" which can be found on the "Web" at: http://www.cityofboise.org/pds/, Applications/Brochures, Fire Division Applications, "Fire Sprinkler Design Cover Sheet".
