Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center (East Parking Garage) - To install a Class 1, Manual, Dry Standpipe system in a new 83,600 ft/2, two-level, concrete parking garage on the east side of the Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center Campus. The top deck being at street level and one deck below. This garage is an open parking garage with exterior openings at the North and East sides of the structure. This building is structurally designed to support one additional future parking level. This garage is not fire sprinklered. The piped system shall comply with NFPA 14-2000, NFPA 13-1999 (where addressed), attached review comment and conditions list, all as regulated by the Fire Chief. These notes, permit and fire "Inspection Card" are required to be on site as a condition of this work, to provide witness of compliance verification of minimum code. This permit is attached to building permit: BLD02-02583.

1. The feed/supply main is shown as buried underneath this structures floor. Pipe shall not be run under buildings. Exception: When absolutely necessary to run pipe under buildings, special precautions shall be taken that include arching the foundation walls over the pipe, running pipe in covered trenches, and providing valves to isolate sections of pipe under buildings. (NFPA 14:4-1.2.6)
2. Provide clarification of the 2" C900 PVC piped for the sump drain line. Provide data submittal of that piping, its' drain valve, etc. Pipe or tube used in standpipe systems shall meet or exceed one of the standards in NFPA 14 Table 2-2.1 or shall be in accordance with 2-2.2 through 2-2.6. (NFPA 14:2-2.1)
3. Provide better detail on a standpipe riser/s, which includes dimensioned elevation view of the structure, the dimensioning elevation of those devices/connections, dimensioning location of required flexible connections in contrast to floor penetrations, support clamps, bracing, etc, all meeting minimum requirements of NFPA 14:6-1.
4. Provide location of the hydrants which shall be used for this facility on the "Site Plan." (NFPA 14:6-1)
5. When the installation of sprinkler heads is not involved or insignificant due to the type of work being permitted, a plan review fee equivalent to 1.05% of the total bid price shall be assessed, up to a maximum of $3,150.00 or a minimum of $105.00 (whichever is larger), and paid to the Building Official. Provide your contract price for this work in order to verify permit fee requirements meeting BCO ยง4-02-28(2-B)
