a. The calculations provided verified the supply available with the minimum demand for Light and OH. But adjusted City Water to the pump inlets should be adjusted up and not down, since the pump is lower than the supply in this facility! This installation shall be carefully engineered, taking into consideration the water supply and all water demands, the characteristics of the particular pressure-reducing valve installing, including verification that the valve is capable of regulating water pressure from "0", very low flow, to the maximum flow demands set upon the device. Designer must prove a single head operation, to the maximum demand calculated (reference item "e" below.
b. Complete data submittals on the PRV, which includes rated flow charts, installation requirements with its intended approved application usage verifying the regulating of water in all applicable flow conditions are required.
c. Designer/Engineer must include clear, precise and details plans of all work incorporating, including details in the added control valve required per NFPA 13:5-14.1.2.4, tamper supervision per UFC 1003.3 and whatever is required to verify minimum code compliance with the installation.
d. Provide drain valve/s and piping meeting the minimum requirements of NFPA 13:5-14.2.4.2, 5-14.2.4.3, which shall be included on plans as addressed in Item "c" above.
e. Calculations provided are for the verification of light hazard protection on the 4th floor and OH-1 protection in the basement. No verification provided of the standpipe system demand and minimum pressures required in meeting NFPA14:5-9.1.1, 5-7, shown attached to this piping. If the piping is not attached to the fire sprinkler piping, how the PRV will be flow tested?
