Description	To provide a automatic/manual fire alarm system per code requirements. The fire alarm system will include sprinkler monitoring, elevator recall, HVAC monitoring and fire/smoke damper monitoring. The associated building permit (BLD 02-02126) is to construct a new five-story, with a basement parking garage, 53,265 sq. ft. Type II 1-Hour, shell and core mixed-use building. NOTE: Stand pipes and the installation of a NFPA 13 fire sprinkler system is required for story increase and cannot be used for any other purpose. Annunciation is not included for the future tenants on the ground, second or the third floors. No occupancy is permitted until a separate fire alarm permit has been issued. Occupancy of these areas is not permitted under this permit. A separate fire alarm permit will be required to install fire alarm devices before these areas may be occupied.

Phoned Rob Ahten (Protex; applicant) to advise him that the riser did not show any clouding per the letter dated 1/15/2004. Also in the letter he was to resubmit a matrix (sequence of operations) to include the door release on the security door on the first floor. I also found that the battery calculations were incorrect on the 5499 panel as the number of appliances on Circuit #2 was wrong. Rob stated he would fax over the matrix and updated calculations. These plans on hold until I receive information from Rob.

Rob,

In regards to the package for the Veltex building that you resubmitted on Jan. 13, 2004. It was requested from Rick Jackson, (IFC, PDS Inspector), that you resubmit as-builts of the fire alarm system to the city for the Veltex building. The drawings that were resubmitted do not reflect the conditions in the building or the actual fire alarm system as it is installed to date. (Jim of Power Plus stated on the 14th that the as-builts had been handed over to you to include in the resubmittal as requested by Rick Jackson.)

The request is for you to resubmit complete as-builts of the fire alarm system in its current configuration and layout including updated architectural backgrounds. Per the Fire Alarm Permit Plan Review Requirements (instructions included with the fire alarm permit application) "All changes to previously submitted plans shall be clouded and dated."

Typically a resubmittal shall include two copies of ALL documentation. It would be acceptable for you to submit two copies of revised as-built floor plans, riser, manufacturer cut sheets for any devices or appliances that were added to the system since the permit was issued, field measurements for affected NACs and an as-built matrix to show the functionality of all the modifications. (i.e. the proper function of the security door release)
