Fire sprinkler piping is OK to cover. I notified John Venchie with Debest Fire Protection that on the second floor in both apartments that the tenting on the pipe could be improved in a couple of locations. He stated that it would be taken care of. I also said the same thing to Frank, the superintendant 5/13/2003 9:17:19 AM 5/13/2003 9:20:22 AM

The sprinkler piping and risers as installed do not match the approved plans. Resubmit plans that show as-built information. Do not cover pipe until plans have been approved and reinspected. A do not cover sticker was left at project. The east side second floor apartment plan shows 1 1/2 pipe to be installed. 1" is installed. Could not verify piping per notes #5, #6 and #7. Per review note #8 1 1/2 pipe is to be installed but 1 1/4 is installed. Resubmitt calculations. No other items inspected 5/6/2003 2:59:50 PM

1. Plans are nearly unreadable (light) with some pertinent information too difficult to decipher. Provide plans that are of a quality that are fully readable and scannable. (UFC 1001.3)
2. Plans are not complete. Meter sizing was not provided. Calculations show a 10-gallon deduction at the supply connection. Hose allowances at supply are not equivalent to pressure loss for meters. (Revised calculations not required at this date) (UFC 1001.3)
3. Plans are not complete. 2nd level bedroom is identified as "vaulted," and plans lack information that is critical for verifying design. Provide revised plans, documentation, information, clarifying that fire sprinkler head installation/spacing/locations meet sprinkler manufactures listing requirements for vaulted ceilings. (UFC 1001.3)
4. Plans are incomplete. Location of domestic shutoff is lacking. Provide details on the plans where the location of the domestic supply control valve is located. This location shall be on the supply side of both sprinklers and domestic takeoff! (NFPA 13D:3-1.1, UFC 1001.3)
5. Provide DATA SUBMITTALS on backflow device (whether this contractor is installing it or not). (UFC 1001.3)
6. Plans are incomplete. Riser node UG1 to BOR is calculated the same as the UG supply (Polybutylene). This pipe is not listed for exposed use in living spaces. Revise plans to indicate actual piping.
