CIVIC PLAZA PA-2 APARTMENTS-This permit is to install a new manual fire alarm system and single/multiple station smoke detection in dwelling units, as part of the construction of the R-1 apartment building. The new alarm system will cover the basement parking structure ground floor parking area and the 5-story apartment building. The manual alarm system includes pull stations at all exits, audible alarms in all building areas, visual annunciation in common and public use areas and hearing impaired dwelling units, elevator recall functions, and monitoring of the fire sprinkler system and fire pump.
There are separate permits and a Certificate of Occupancy required to finish and occupy each future tenant space.
The associated building permits are:
BLD 02-00369 (shell & core) - To construct a new 30,873 sq. ft. parking garage and retail sales area, with a three hour occupancy separation per UBC Section 311.2.2.1, on top of an existing Type I-FR. underground parking structure. To complete center core, restroom and laundry facilities for the upper floor apartments. The parking area is 9,300 sq. ft. and there is 12,600 sq. ft. for future tenant space.
BLD02-00370 (Section 1 of 6) - To construct two four-hour area separation walls to divide this building into six separate buildings. This section is 5 stories and 25 units, @ 3,869 sq.ft. per floor, above a three-hour occupancy separation per UBC Section 311.2.2.1.

BLD02-00373 (Section 4 of 6) - To construct two four-hour area separation walls to divide this building into six separate buildings. This section is 5 stories and 25 units, @ 4,666 sq.ft. per floor, above a three-hour occupancy separation per UBC Section 311.2.2.1.
