Description	(CHINA BLUE BAR) To modify, add and relocate fire sprinkler protection and piping for the remodel of an existing 18,348-ft/2 (5,565-ft/2 basement, 8,006-ft/2 first floor, 4,777-ft/2 second floor) for a new bar. Fire sprinkler work is related to complete protection for this tenant throughout, including basement and related elevated platforms, and cavities relating to the T.I. and existing portions of previously sprinklered areas. The building is fire sprinklered for story increase and because the fire area exceeds 5,000 square feet and the occupant load exceeds 300. The fire sprinkler system shall comply with NFPA 13-1999 as regulated by the Fire Department. All fire sprinklers and related appurtenance within this permit work scope shall meet current NFPA 13-1999 standards, comply with the IFC-2000 and attached review comment and conditions list, which is regulated by the Fire Chief. These notes, permit and fire "Inspection Card" are required to be on site as a condition of this work, in order to provide witness verification of compliance in meeting minimum code standards. Shell sprinklers for un-sprinklered areas of the building are currently being installed under FIR03-00368. A demolition permit was also issued under FIR03-00325, which must be completed prior to completion (is not to completed to date). This permit is attached to building permit: BLD03-00830.

Received a call from Bob Brady FPE (CSHQA) who is now involved with this project and the proposed pyrotechnics show relating to (protection requirements). He indicated a design for OH-2 would be sufficient. I requested a letter addressing the same and include the areas of performances shall be addressed the same, and relay the information to the Fire Sprinkler Contractor for design submittals and approval.

Contacted Jim Danes - De Best Fire Protection and indicated I have received plans that show light hazard protection and pyrotechnics will be involved. They should contact Bob Brady (CSHQA) and coodinate an approved design for the same and what shall I do with this submittal. He indicated to put it asside for now.

Sprinkler plans require verification of piping design through hydraulic calculations since approximately 50 heads have been installed on ONE 1½" line in the same areas on the first floor alone? Office, restrooms, hallway, janitors closet, cooler and breakroom, stairs, and foyer, (14 heads) have been installed on 1" piping and separation must be verified, in order to accept this piping (room design method) to apply, or calculations must be provided.
