I stopped by the project per Mary's request and found that Don Lustig of BenchMark Electric, ###-####, has begun installing conduit, flex, wiremold, backboxes and wire for the fire alarm system. I issued a stop work order, placed it on exterior door, for the installation of the fire alarm system until fire alarm plans have been issued. The electrician stated that AIC told him they were given permission by the city to begin installation. I told him I would verify that on monday. I sent a follow up email to Mary

Spoke with Qunicy. Explained that I noticed a flow switch, tamper switch and a PIV on the riser diagram. The building is not sprinklered. I requested an updated riser and stated that I would complete my review when I received the riser and cut sheets for a ceiling mount A/V devices.

Brian called to state the A/V appliances in rooms 145 through 147 have been placed on the cabinets, not in the ceiling. (The ceiling is an existing "hard-lid", installers are afraid of damaging and having to replace the entire ceiling). I told him that the A/V devices on the walls in 148 and 145 may help the "dead" areas at the doorways. He also asked where to place the smoke detector for the smoke door in the cultural center. I explained that that was an engineering item (I had a conversation with the design engineer regarding this door already) and he should have him locate it.
