To add visuals and voice evacuation appliances to an existing required manual fire alarm system with sprinkler monitoring, HVAC shutdown, elevators and for high rise buildings.
The associated building permit (BLD 03-02048) is to construct interior improvements within an existing 7,058 square foot tenant space. This space is located on the 6th floor (14,600 square feet total) of an existing high rise building. The "core" has a floor area of 2,670 square feet. The two existing "core" restrooms were upgraded to be accessible to the disabled and the elevator lobby was remodeled under permit BLD03-00539. Work is to include interior nonbearing walls, interior windows and doors, millwork, finishes, and suspended ceilings all per the approved drawings and the plan review report on file. The fire sprinkler system, fire alarm system, and high-rise life safety systems (and the infrastructure supporting these systems) for the 6th floor are regulated under the provisions of the 2000 IBC. The fire sprinkler system shall comply with NFPA 13-1999 as regulated by the Fire Department.
