To provide HVAC shutdown, manual fire boxes and notification for a remodeled space. The required manual fire alarm system includes sprinkler monitoring, partial area automatic detection, HVAC shutdown, elevator recall/shutdown, door release and notification throughout.

The associated building permit (BLD 03-02455) is to demo and remodel an approximate 9000 square foot area of the basement in building #16. This remodel will convert the existing Encapsulation Area 0001J, R&M Area 001O, Office 001Q and Mechanical Area into Inspection Bay 001J, Smock & Booty 001N, Plenum 001O, Photo Bay 001K, Plenum 001P, Etch/PVD Bay 001L, Plenum 001) and Mech. 000H. These areas are being enclosed by a one-hour fire-resistive fire barrier (vertical & horizontal) to create a separate control area. This work includes related raised floor, suspended ceiling, mechanical work, including installation of new Recirculation Fan Units at the interstitial space, as well as, new exhaust ducts routed to the roof. This remodel is being done in the basement of Building #16 between grid lines 5&19 and M&Q. All construction per the approved plans and attached comment list. The structural concrete work and relocation of the exterior curtain wall at the duct shaft was approved under BLD03-02254.
