To add A/V appliances for a remodel to an existing required fire alarm system that includes manual pull stations, automatic detection, sprinkler monitoring, HVAC shutdown, elevator recall/shutdown, fire/smoke damper control, door release, high rise bldg requirements and notification appliances throughout.
The associated building permit (BLD 03-02198) is to create a 2,956 square foot office tenant space and to construct interior improvements. This space is located on the 3rd floor (14,600 square feet total) of an existing high rise building. The "core" has a floor area of 2,670 square feet. In addition to tenant improvement work, the two existing "core" restrooms will be upgraded to be accessible to the disabled and the elevator lobby remodeled under this permit. Work is to include interior nonbearing walls, interior windows and doors, millwork, finishes, and suspended ceilings all per the approved drawings and the plan review report on file. The fire sprinkler system, fire alarm system, and high-rise life safety systems (and the infrastructure supporting these systems) for the 3rd floor are regulated under the provisions of the 2000 IBC. The fire sprinkler system on the 3rd floor shall comply with NFPA 13-1999 as regulated by the Fire Department.
