To provide sufficient notification throughout the remodeled area of FAB1, Smock and Bootie for BLDG 2. Three (3) air handlers are being added with duct detectors for HVAC shutdown. A door hold-open is being added and will be released upon any smoke detection in the air handling system for this space. The required manual fire alarm system includes sprinkler monitoring, HVAC shutdown, elevator recall/shutdown, fire/smoke damper control and notification throughout.

The associated building permit (BLD 04-01255) is to Remodel Old Smock and Bootie for CVD, Photo - (#02-20036191) - To demo and remove some interior partitions, doors and ceiling; to demo some interior concrete slab floor areas and excavate to five feet. To pour new structural concrete retaining walls and recessed concrete floor for new access floor system. To install new cleanroom walls, doors and cleanroom HEPA ceilings system to create s 746 sq. ft. RDA Bay 7 (104C), a 914 sq. ft. Plenum 318 (104A) and a 497 sq. ft. Diffusion Bay 6 (104B). On the second floor remove HVAC equipment, remove floor trusses, install new steel framing and floor system level with adjacent floor level. To reinstall some of the existing mechanical equipment and install some new HVAC equipment. Fit-up area for future use with lighting, exhaust, water, power, and gas monitoring systems. This project also includes the construction of a new 120 sq. ft. addition at the west wall of Building #2, costructed of concrete foundation and subfloor, metal stud joists, siding and roofing. This addition will house a new vertical recirculating fan air handling unit. This work is being done in an approximate 2500 square foot area of the north end of the first floor of Building #2, between grid lines #a & #D and #6 & #7.6. And at the northeast end of the second floor of Building #2 between grid lines #B & #D and #6 & #7.6. The sprinklers are used for area and story increases.
