To provide one in-duct smoke detector for fire/smoke damper control and visual notification throughout the remodeled area. The required manual fire alarm system includes sprinkler monitoring, elevator recall/shutdown, HVAC shutdown, fire/smoke damper control, door release and notification throughout.

The associated building permit (BLD 04-01070) is to perform selective demolition of interior finishes and millwork within an 1,100 sq. ft. area of existing medical process laboratory. To upgrade the area for use as a Microbiology Lab by constructing new interior non-bearing partitions to create work stations and areas; to install new millwork for work stations; new interior finishes; mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire sprinkler & alarms system modifications or additions as necessary to meet tenant needs and comply with current adopted codes and ordinances. Scope of work does not alter any existing fire or smoke rated exit path systems (walls or door assemblies). PC04-321/drs - (ST LUKES- 1E MICROBIOLOGY LAB) A "Letter of Compliance" is required for this scope of work within existing hospital area.
