Description	MEADOW GOLD DAIRY WAREHOUSE "D", WAREHOUSE "C" AND MILK RECEIVING BAY - To install an overhead fire sprinkler system for High Piled Combustible Storage in a new 7,921-ft/2 one story, Type VB warehouse addition attached to an existing 4,640-ft/2 warehouse and a 1,250-ft/2 milk receiving bay. Building "D" will have high rack storage. Building "C" will have palletized/pile storage. Building "C", "D" and "E" are considered as one building due to lack of approved fire barriers, with fire sprinklers used for area. The fire sprinkler system work shall comply with the IFC 2000, the attached review comments/conditions, as regulated by the Fire Chief. The review comments/conditions, permit and fire "Inspection Card" are required to be on site as a condition of this work, to provide witness of compliance verification of minimum code. The underground fire permit associated with project is: FIR04-00432. This permit is attached to building permit: BLD04-0702.

1. Plan FP4 of 4. Provide complete data submittals on Dry Uprights installing in Warehouse "C". Include the maximum dimension installing. Include the number installing in the "Sprinkler Schedule." NOTE: Partial section on same sheet scales in excess of 4'-0" of upright required. Maximum listed approval length ("B" dimensioning) is 49½". Any length exceeding this length will not be allowed. (4'-0" is the industry standard for maximum listing). Another issue is sprig-ups 4 ft or longer shall be restrained against lateral movement. (NFPA 13:9.3.6.5*, 9.3.5.5)

2. Provide data submittal of the listed water shields installing. (NFPA 13:8.5.5.3.3)

3. Sprinklers in single row "D.1" racks do not meet the location requirements addressed and shown in 12.3.3.1.5(f). Revise and resubmit.

4. Milk Receiving Bay has an area where sprinkler head spacing exceeds the design verified. Revise and resubmit.

5. Building "C" calculations address a remote area of 1025-ft/2 and not 1,500 (minimum required)? Revise and resubmit. Note: Q.R. Reduction allowance does not apply to Chapter 12 "Storage."
