Phone conversation with Nick at Synergy, comment #6 states that the signal shall be temporal. Per NFPA72 6.8.4.1 (commentary in handbook) "...it may be impractical or undesirable to change an existing evacuation signal that is already recognized by occupants and approved by the AHJ." Therefore, the notification appliances that are installed for this permit may be programmed to "signal" to match the existing.
