This is approved on condition of a recommendation based on similar past installation issues and not a design acceptance of responsibility for any possible failure nor or in the future, in not meeting minimum installation code requirements as established by NFPA 13 and 24 (2000), by the installer. This is in no case an acceptance in practice for any other similar installation situations in meeting minimum code requirement.

Dear Bill,
This email is sent in accordance with our telephone conversation this
morning regarding the insulation layer to be utilized to make up for the
approximately 6 inches of fill needed to meet NFPA 24 requirements for depth
of bury for private fire service mains.
Treasure Valley Fire Protection will install 2 inches of rigid insulation as
requested in your email dated October 11, 2004, in lieu of the proposed
therma cel flexible sheet insulation. This rigid insulation will be
installed today, by George Edes. TVFP requests that Rick Jackson inspects
this installation as soon as possible, so that the General Contractor can
proceed with the backfill process.
Thank you for your consideration and input in arriving at this solution.
