Description	CITY OF BOISE HOUSING * To extend fire sprinkler protection (1 sprinkler) for the relocation of an existing kitchen by utilizing part of the existing exit corridor alcove. Fire sprinkler work is related to the construction of a new one-hour fire partition wall which will separate this unit from the existing corridor. All fire sprinkler work and related shall be per IFC 903.2.8, NFPA 13:8.4.5 and modified plans/documents and attached review comments, under direction of the Fire Chief. These notes, permit and fire "Inspection Card" are required to be on site as a condition of this work, to provide witness of compliance verification of minimum code. This permit is attached to building permit: BLD04-01144.

1. The (original) calculation design plate (which is also nearly impossible to read) appears to have the wrong protection design for the occupancy use required in this facility. This facility is an R-2, two stories and requires a protection design meeting NFPA 13R, not a 13D as so indicated and addressed (scope of work). Provide clarification that this facility is currently designed for a 13R. It also appears that the original system is incorporating standard heads installed in a manor which exceeds their listing? If this is the case and the system requires corrections meeting a code upgrade; obtain an Upgrade Agreement which is approved by Boise City Fire Marshal, Dave Miller. (IFC 903.2.8)

2. Six sprinkler heads are addressed in this submittal, but none are identified specifically to which the designer is incorporating. When submitting documents with multiple choices, identify each of the item/s incorporating. (IFC 105.4, 901.2)

3. Clarify the exposed CPVC piping is and will be installed in accordance with its listing and that it meets the manufacturer's installation instruction requirements for "Exposed Installations."
