1. IFC 905.3.5 Stages. This stage qualifies for a Class III wet standpipe system with 1.5-inch and 2.5-inch hose connections on each side of the stage. The designer has located (undefined) standpipe hose connections on each side of the stage openings (curtain locations). Relocate connectiosn to side of each stage exit door. Revise plans and resubmit and include and/or verify the following:
a. Elevation view/s addressing the location/height of valves, etc., from the floor. (NFPA 14:8.1.5)
b. Manufacturer's data submittals addressing the valves installing, with correct caps. (NFPA 14:8.1.4)
c. This is a Wet, Manual and Combined System. I will contain pressurized water (insufficient for required pressures and flows) and is sharing a Fire Department Connection with the fire sprinkler system. This design cannot be accepted as provided and will require modifications:
i. Hydraulically designed standpipe systems shall be designed to provide the waterflow rate required by Section 7.10 at a minimum residual pressure of 100 psi at the outlet of the hydraulically most remote 2½" hose connection and 65-psi at the outlet of the hydraulically most remote 1½" hose station. NOTE: Any requirement for the installation of fire hose on standpipes shall be omitted. (BMC 7-01-59, IFC 905.1.1, NFPA 14:7.8.1.1)
ii. In addressing item "i" above, include a water supply that will be available in conjunction with the service supply, by a responding Fire Department pumper. Obtain from the Fire Marshall (Dave Miller-[208] ###-####) the available pump booster (water supply) available and design the standpipe system accordingly. A sign also be placed at the connection which indicates the pressure required at the inlets to deliver the system demand (reference item . (NFPA 14:7.10.1.2*, 6.3.5.2.2, 4.10)
iii. Provide a flow switch and corresponding test connection for the standpipe system. Include verbiage that the (standpipe) systems control, drain, and test connection valves signs shall address their purpose and identifying the system and area it controls. (NFPA 14:5.7*, 6.2.8.2)
iv. Provide earthquake bracing and include it on the plans. (NFPA 14:6.1.2.5)
v. Provide hanger location and address types which include any trapeze hangers and their engineering (along with the fire sprinkler system) meeting requirement of NFPA 14:6.4.2.1 and 6.4.2.2.

2. Plan modifications required. Plan FP4 of 5, Band Room #100. Water with correct densities is required to wet all walls and floor areas throughout this facility. Revise and resubmit. (IFC 104.3, 106, 107.2.2, 901.6)

3. Modifications required. Plan FP4 of 5, Choir Room #102. Water with correct densities is required to wet all walls and floor areas throughout this facility. Revise and resubmit. (IFC 104.3, 106, 107.2.2, 901.6)

4. Design area #4 Rest Rooms incorporates room design method and/or with a reduced ceiling height for the maximum reduction for 10'-0". The lobby has a higher ceiling and would appear to put a higher demand per line (more heads flowing). Verify and submit with separate calculations.

5. If installing a Riser Manifold®, Ready Riser® or similar, provide the manufacturers data submittals and identify the individual model installing. (NFPA 13:14.1.4, BMC 7-01-50-901.2, IFC 105.4)

6. Backflow prevention is not provided or addressing required forward flow components/provisions. Provide forward flow test piping and appurtenance, in accordance with NFPA 13:8.16.4.6.1*. (BMC 7-01-50-901.2, IFC 105.4)

7. Provide manufacturers data submittals for the intermediate level/rack storage type sprinklers or the "shield" installing to the Sprinklers, installed under open gratings. (BMC 7-01-50-901.2, IFC 105.4, NFPA 13:8.5.5.3.3)
