BOISE VALLEY ADVENTIST SCHOOL-EXISTING * To install a complete overhead dry-pipe and extend the wet fire sprinkler system throughout the entire existing school which will be connected to a riser manifold installed under FIR04-00737 (17,175-ft/2 single story, Type V-B, gymnasium & class addition). The existing building is a 14,599-ft/2, Type V-1 hr., building. The fire sprinklers are used for area in the addition and satisfy IFC (hydrants) fire flow requirements. The fire sprinkler system work shall comply with the IFC 2003, the attached review comments/conditions, as regulated by the Fire Chief. The review comments/conditions, permit and fire "Inspection Card" are required to be on site as a condition of this work, to provide witness of compliance verification of minimum code. This permit is attached to building permit: BLD04-00709.

Maximum head spacing for the attic heads is 120sq. ft. per review note #9. The uprights are overspaced in many locations off the walls in the attic. Upright sprinklers are not sloped with roof deck at the southend of the attic. CPVC piping is not tented correctly in the attic at the central area. Verify that the cpvc piping exposed in the mechanical room can be. Remove switch at the air compressor.

I spoke to Dave with Debest about possible rated walls in the existing school. I referred him back to the architect. I also noted exposed wood including beams and 2x4's located above the ceiling that have no sprinkler protection.

Cannot determine coverage for center area (plans lack columns to identify exact location).

John Venche (desinger) came down and we found that the one set (of 5) submitted was partially existing and new (mixed), which was throwing the review off. Plans were not clearly identified.
