1. Hydraulic reference and plans do not correlate:
a. Riser is calced with a C-factor of 150 and plans show "steel" (120)? CPVC will not be accepted since designer does not address listing requirements for the same. Domestic tee tap up through node #6 cannot incorporate unprotected (exposed) Poly, PVC or similar, etc.
b. Calcs are missing friction losses for the following fittings:
i. The domestic control valve,
ii. Flow switch (in pipes 2" or less in size). (NFPA 13D-8.4.4*, NFPA 13-14.4.4.5 [Friction Loss])
iii. Butterfly valve. Please note that the "slow close" valves are not required in domestic 13D systems.
c. Plans show an 1¼" backflow. Data submittals provided (Watts Series 007) does not include a 1¼" model. Identify the type and size installing that matches the data submittals, and friction loss included in the calcs provided.
2. The "Upper Floor" "Master Bathroom" shower is part of the "RESTROOM" and will require protection, (no exception is allowed under the code). (NFPA 13D-8.6.2)
3. The design area shall be the area that includes the two hydraulically most demanding sprinklers. This design is verified on the "Main Floor". The "Upper Floor" or the dry sidewalls may be the most demanding? Provide verification of the two hydraulically most demanding sprinklers in this residence. (NFPA 13D-8.1.2*)
4. Plan FP-1 Section is not identified on any floor plan shown? Provide a location where and which way this cut was taken in relation to the area viewing.
5. This facility is using nominal K-factor heads smaller than 5.6, so the inspector's test connections shall contain an orifice of the same size as the smallest sprinkler installed in the system. Provide clarification on the combination inspectors test/drain installing on the plan (BMC 7-01-50-901.2, IFC 105.4.2, NFPA 13D-7.2.5)
6. Provide clarification on why head #100 is at 10'-0" elevation and head #101 is at 11'-0"?
