Description
To provide a required sprinkler monitoring fire alarm system that includes HVAC shutdown. The building has been vacant and the owner requires the building have an active fire alarm system. Temperature monitoring of the space is included to ensure the wet sprinkler pipes are maintained in an appropriately controlled environment, as the duct detectors will shutdown the units upon smoke detection.

There is no associated building permit.

AM-telcall from Robert Gobler, Century (Sentry?) Security, ###-#### regarding how to "final" the current alarm system installed under this permit. He indicated it is not in service and there are no active phone lines to it. I explained he cannot use this permit for a system designed/installed by another contractor. Either ADT needs to re-activate and final this permit or Century could submit new plans and install their own system. The building is a sprinklered building and therefore requires the sprinklers and alarm monitoring service to be operative to be "legal" even as a vacant building.

PM-meeting with Mark Sentino, two telcons with ADT, discussion with Marlene, meeting with Bob Archibald and Dave Hanneman, telcon to Bob Gallagher to relay Dave Hanneman's decision to require a meeting to discuss their plan to get sprinkler monitoring in service and sprinklers verified to be "in service" prior to further construction or demolition activity. He agreed to call back tomorrow to advise status of asbestos abatement work going on now and timetable for Quest to reconnect 2 phone lines, reuired for sprnkelr monitoring. He prefers to have ADT connect their installed panel and final their permit, rather than having a new company resubmit plans for a new system/permit. .

Walk-in meeting wiht Bob & Chip Gallagher, Visser Building. The bldg has recently been sold; they are working with new owner to remodel the building and wanted approval to take spk system out of service, to start demo work in bldg. I indicated sprinkler system cannot be taken out of service at this time and no demo work can be started until the bldg permit application and plans have been submitted and a demo permit issued by the Bldg Dept. In conjuction with that demo permit, we will indicate the spk impairment procedures to be followed. I indicated they need to get the system inspected and a current tag on it, which will require the alarm monitoring to be in service. They indicated they will get both items done immediately. I explained that this permit is legally Expired and will need to be re-issued and a new fee paid; they can use the same issed plans if they use the same alarm company, but the permit cannot be re-issed to a different alarm company.
