1. Provide Backflow manufacturer, make and model data submittals with graphs. (BMC 7-01-50-901.2, NFPA 13-14.1.3 (41)
2. Detail the underground pipe type entering this (restaurant) basement. (BMC 7-01-50-901.2)
3. Plan FP-0 shows some rods connected of which is not identified on the plans? Provide detailed clarification of materials and appurtenances used for the prevention of acting thrust force on the underground entering in this project. (BMC 7-01-50-901.2)
4. Plan FP-1 address the sprinkler head blocked in the basement near the stairs. (BMC 7-01-50-901.2)
5. Provide required auxiliary drains of all trapped mains. Show the type, location and where draining on the plans. (BMC 7-01-50-901.2)
6. 7. Plans are incomplete. Provide detailed locations and area/s of calculation zone represented of the pipe being braced (on the plan) addressing and correlated with the sway brace calculation provided. If incorporating only one zone and similar bracing, then that zone must be shown to be the worst case within the structure/building. Include correlating earthquake-bracing details with their locations represented on the floor plan incorporating. The locations shall be coordinated with item #8 following. (IFC 105.4.2, 901.2, NFPA 13-9.3.5.2.1, 14.1.3 (39)
7. 8. Plans are incomplete. Provide type and location of joints. Include flexible pipe couplings where individual sections of piping 2½" or larger must be provided to move differentially with the individual sections of the building. Include the connection between the system piping and underground supply piping. Couplings shall be arranged to coincide with building structural separations. (NFPA 13-9.3.2*, 9.3.3*, A.9.3.3, A.9.3.2, 14.1.3 (21)
8. Plans are incomplete. The system pipe fittings and flexible couplings, etc. shall also be shown on the plans that correlate with locations for earthquake bracing. Eathquake brcing is completely missing. (BMC 7-01-50-901.2)
9. Plans are incomplete. Provide clarification of dry upright sprinklers protecting the attic.
a. This construction information for the roof supporting system which shall include structural member information. Provide section cut through north to south that show the truss system, and the spacing between (required to clarify spacing issues). (BMC 7-01-50-901.2, NFPA 13 Table 8.6.2.2.1)
b. Include maximum length of dry upright (within maximum manufacturers listing verification and possible restraint requirements). (BMC 7-01-50-901.2)
c. Provide information on separation of fire areas with piping penetrations (attic and second floor).
10. Plans are incomplete. Include the hydraulically designed system information on the hydraulic data nameplate and outline the area of test application verifying, on the plan FP-3. (NFPA 13-14.1.3[31])
11. Provide dimensioning and pipe size on the plans between nodes 9 & 10.
12. Designer shall separate both facilities from dual shutdowns for an individual service or repair. In the design provided, shutting off the Leku Restaurant will also shut down the Boarding House. Provide a corrected design that will isolate system controls for each facility. Revise and resubmit.
13. All changes must be clouded and referenced by a revision number as addressed in the bulleted items above, for easy identification and verification with submittals.
For details on the above, review comments, attached to permit (FIR05-00266FAILED2)
