Description	VISTA VILLAGE SHOPPING CENTER-PHASED (BUILDING "E" UNDERGROUND) * Phase 1 is to stub out 5'-0" of 6" C-900 CPVC underground fire service supply and install a 6" underground riser located in the North East corner of a new, single story 6,135-ft/2 retail multi-tenant shell building with a 800-ft/2 covered entry facade. Phase 2 is to continue north 20'-0" then 90° west approximately 190'-0" with two 45º offsets and connect to the (United Water) tap at the property line at Vista. This building will be fully fire sprinklered. The fire sprinkler underground work shall comply with NFPA 13-2002, NFPA 24-2002, AWWA, the IFC-2000, attached review comment and conditions list, as regulated by the Fire Chief. These notes, permit and fire "Inspection Card" are required to be on site as a condition of this work, to provide witness of compliance verification of minimum fire code. 1. The building permit submitted for this work to be attached too is related to the existing Building "D"? This work should be associated with new Building "E", BLD05-00315 (per your drawing)?

2. Is this 5'-0" out underground work the complete scope of work under this permit requesting? Will you be doing any more underground work on this line in the future?

3. I cannot accept your underground riser since it does not meet AWWA, Building and Plumbing Code. You are exposing a critical and required system with PVC piping in this facility without correct and approved "barrier protection/separation". I will lay this submittal to the side temporarily. Modify the riser with an approved carbon steel and resubmit and fax the modified riser to: ###-#### with transmittal letter, revised permit application, which includes the correct BLD number (ASAP), or I must deny the work and you will be required to submit through the normal channels.
