Pendent heads along storefront canopy do not meet OH2 spacing requirements dictated by this occupant type and use for this specific area (see review notes- re-submittals req. for any changes), EQ attatchments in wood truss members must be through bolted, attic heads along sloped ceilings must orient deflector with the slope, perform hydrostatic test when system is complete and changes have been made.

Re-Submittals Of The Following Items Are Required:
1. This building is classified as an "M" occupancy. Anti-freeze system would appear to be under-designed. Canopy cover protection beneath is will probably require OH-2, (depending on the commodity/use) protection required. Provide a letter from the building owner which states that the area beneath the canopy structure will not be used for "Mercantile" use, displays and/or (sidewalk type) sales, etc. Signage will also be required to be posted at eye level along building wall every 20'-0" which states: "By order of the Fire Chief, this covered canopy shall have no combustible merchandise displayed or stored beneath for any reason, at anytime. IFC 102.8." Redesign or address the option and resubmit. (BMC 7-01-50 IFC 901.2, IFC 105.4.2)
2. Section view "C-C" provides minimal construction dimensions or information to verify fire sprinkler placement and design requirements:
a. No slope of ceiling provided,
b. No truss spacing and if construction meets 8.6.4.1.3 sprinkler are designed as such,
c. If combustible, unobstructed with members less than 3'-0" on centers the maximum upright sprinkler spacing is 130-ft/2 per 8.6.2.2.1,
d. Or if 8.6.4.1.4 applies, fire sprinkler do not,
e. Heads placement as provided would indicate applying 8.6.4.1.3, of which (by scaling) they are not within 3'-0" from the peak, etc., per requirements of 8.6.4.1.3.1,
Clarify construction and design, apply it to the plans and resubmit with enough information for verification of meeting fire sprinkler installation code requirements. (BMC 7-01-50 IFC 901.2, IFC 105.4.2)
3. Hanger detail (side beam, and trapeze) are detailed incorrectly. Screws in the side of a timber or joist shall be not less than 2½" from the lower edge where supporting branch lines and not less than 3" where supporting main lines. (NFPA 13-9.1.5.6.1)
4. Provide manufacturers data submittal for expansion chamber along with model identified. (BMC 7-01-50 IFC 901.2, IFC 105.4.2)
