To provide multiple station smoke detectors in a residence per IFC and NFPA 72 and to extend the audible component of the existing building fire alarm system into the residence (4th and 5th floors). The required manual fire alarm system includes sprinkler monitoring, required automatic detection, HVAC shutdown, fire/smoke damper control, elevator recall/shutdown and notification throughout.

The associated building permit (BLD 05-00364) is to complete a 2 story residential condominium located on the 4th and 5th stories of the Veltex Building. This unit will have a 2,145 square foot main level (includes the 690 square foot exterior terrace) and a 935 square foot 2nd level. The total floor area of this tenant space will be 3,080 square feet. Work is to include interior nonbearing walls, an interior winder stairway with circular stairway segments, interior doors, and interior finishes. The work shall comply with the approved drawings, the plan review report, and all applicable codes.
