Description
To provide a required manual fire alarm system and an automatic fire detection system per IFC 2000. The fire alarm system includes sprinkler monitoring, required automatic detection, HVAC shutdown, fire/smoke damper control, door release, elevator recall/shutdown (2ea.), cooking hood monitoring (1ea.) and notification throughout.

9/28/2005 - The omission of manual pull stations is acceptable based on Comment under Fire Alarm System Requirements (IFC Review, completed by Sam Rogers, 2/28/2005) that manual pull stations will not be required at all exits based upon the exceptions for R-1 occupancies in IFC 2003. One is required at an approved location, which as shown on the plans at the front desk is acceptable.

The associated building permit (BLD 04-03025) is to construct a new 102,196 sq.ft. 4- story, wood framed, 110 guest room extended stay hotel with a restaurant, lodge area, indoor swimming pool and spa area. The installation of horizontal exits on each floor is used for travel distance to the exits. Note: This building is fully fire sprinklered for area increase. This permit does not include the construction of the swimming pool and related equipment. All construction per the approved plans and attached comment list. Refer to BLD 05-00477 for grading permit.
