To demo four (4) existing anti-freeze tamper switches (per location plan in packet, see red annotations) and provide monitoring on the second riser and dry sprinkler systems being installed for the canopy remodel. The strip mall will now have two riser rooms. The existing riser room (southeast corner) houses the FACP. The new riser room (northeast corner) includes a new manual pull station and horn/strobe.

The associated sprinkler permit (FIR05-00586) is to install a 6" underground fire service supply and an overhead drypipe system for the remodel and construction of a canopy on an existing strip mall building (8013 to 8101 Fairview Ave). The proposed work does not increase the building floor area. This building is fire sprinklered for building area increase. The fire sprinkler system work shall comply with the IFC 2003, the attached review comments/conditions, as regulated by the Fire Chief. The review comments/conditions, permit and fire "Inspection Card" are required to be on site as a condition of this work, to provide witness of compliance verification of minimum code. This permit is attached to building permit: BLD05-02141 MILWAUKEE SHOPPING CENTER - aka SHOPKO PLAZA - CANOPY REMODEL *

The associated building permit (BLD04-02140) is to remodel the canopy of an existing strip mall building (8013 to 8101 Fairview Ave.). The proposed work does not increase the floor area, does not increase the occupant load, and does not change the occupancy classification. Work is to include concrete footings and foundations, structural wood columns and beams, nonbearing masonry and stucco column enclosures, engineered wood trusses, standing seam metal roofing, and single-ply roof membranes all per the approved drawings and plan review report on file. For the canopy, the location of fire sprinkler heads shall comply with NFPA 13-2002 as regulated by the Fire Department.
