To modify the existing fire sprinkler system for changes to the lobby, laundry, vending, exercise and board room areas. The building scope of work is to remodel the entry lobby, hotel laundry, guest laundry, exercise room, administrative office, refurbish guest rooms and corridors per approved plans. Work to include removal of 7 sleeping rooms, 2 rooms between grid C & E to enlarge hotel laundry area. Remove 2 rooms between grid M & O at 9 & 11 for expansion of exercise room and guest laundry. Remove 2 rooms between grid W & Y for new restrooms across from meeting rooms. Add 5 new exterior windows and 5 new exterior doors to existing meeting rooms between grid T & Y. Remove interior load bearing walls in prep kitchen and great room areas to enlarge great room area and to accommodate the buffet area, between grid G & N. All construction per the approved plans and attached comment list. NOTE: This building is fully fire sprinklered for area increase per the 1991 UBC. MJP CUP05-00097

CORRECTIONS REQUIRED:
1. The (existing riser) needs supported. (The weight of the riser is on the Wall P.I. penetrating through the frangible outside wall).
2. Elevator equipment room will require another sprinkler head. This head will need smoke detection located per NFPA 72-6.15.4.2. The detector shall have both a lower temperature rating and a higher sensitivity as compared to the sprinklers (so coordination must be required between the alarm and fire sprinkler contractors-verified by CM Company). (NFPA 72-6.15.4.1*)

Overhead rough-in is good for cover at the lobby, kitchen, corridor ,confrence and reception areas, two upright heads above drop ceiling at the market room need to be removed as indicated on plans, one upright head in the staff laundry is painted, need to verify enclosed space at the end of meeting room as marked on plans is noncombustible or sprinklered, rotate aux. drain for antifreeze system to the lowest portion of the pipe, provide flex coupling at the top of riser, need to complete seismic bracing.
