Received fax dated 9/1/06 from McCarthy indicating the WANdoor is not smoke rated, therefore smoke detector activation of the door is not required. However, Dan Stuart, plan reviewer determined that the door requires a smoke acitvated closer per IFC 1008.1.3.3 and the ES Listing report ER-3890, copy attached to approved plans. This responds to comment #1 on the 8/10/06 fire alarm modification plan review.
