The following email was sent to Jeff Cramer, arch.
Jeff,
It is correct that any alarm installation work is required by Code to comply with NFPA 72 installation rules. As to your comment that they are not required, I will have to have the fire inspector evaluate each space according to IFC 907.2.12.1 (1) before we can confirm whether they are required or not. The Mechanical and Building inspectors (Alan Hauser and Tom Arcoraci) should also be in agreement before a final decision is made to remove them.
Regards,
Sam

Alarm Plan Check1/18/2007 1/18/2007 PASS
As Built Review Only: Conducted a (As-Built) review consisting of additional fire alarm notification devices, relocations of mechanical induct smoke detectors and the revised system riser for the Saint Alphonsus Central Tower Pharmacy. Review included clouded areas on the submitted As-Built floor plans only and verification that new devices were added to the system riser. All other areas of the floor plans are to be considered to have been previously reviewed and accepted by field inspection and former plan reviewer. No data sheets or revised battery calculations were provided. The number of initiating devices (2) added as shown should have little if any effect on the battery calculations. It is assumed that the end of line voltage was field inspected for additional notification circuits and is acceptable. No written comments are made to this review.
