COMMERCIAL TIRE - BUILDING ADDITION * To install and extension of and an existing wet system into a new 3,520-ft/2, one story addition located on the east side of the existing 11,035-ft/2, one story Commercial Tire, retail and auto repair building. Fire sprinkler work is related to the riser being modified with the installation of a new wall P.I. attached to a new backflow preventer, system piping with ESFR protection in the attached new masonry exterior walls, concrete slab floor and metal roof building addition which will be used to for wheel alignment work and tire storage. Related building permit work (no sprinkler work identified) includes the remodel of the existing men's and women's restroom. This building will be fully fire sprinklered. This fire protection work shall comply with the IFC 2003 and the permit review comments; each regulated by the Fire Chief. The review comments, permit and fire "Inspection Card" are required to be on site as a condition of this work, to provide witness of compliance verification of minimum code. This permit is attached to BLD05-02812.

Above ground hydro test passed. I performed a partial rough-in inspection. The EFSR heads were too close to the truss webbing. Some EQ bracing still needed to be installed.

Re-Submittals Of The Following Items Are Required:
1. When retroactive installation work and/or backflow prevention devices are to be installed on existing systems, a thorough hydraulic analysis, including revised hydraulic calculations, new fire flow data, and all necessary system modifications to accommodate the additional friction loss, shall be completed as a part of the installation on any existing system. (NFPA 13-8.16.4.6.2, 11.2.2.8.2, 14.1.3[30], BMC 7-01-50 IFC 901.2, IFC 105.4.2)

2. Backflow prevention shall be provided with required forward flow components/provisions in accordance with requirements addressed in NFPA 13-8.16.4.6.1*.

3. The working plan submittal shall include the manufacturer's installation instructions for any specially listed equipment, including descriptions, applications, and limitations for any (Sidewalls) sprinklers, devices, piping, or fittings. (NFPA 13-14.1.4)
