Re-Submittals Of The Following Items Are Required:
1. Shilo Automatic Sprinklers is not meeting minimum design requirements for the occupancy hazard and system modifications provided, due to several reasons:
a. This AHJ cannot read riser detail for pipe sizing including the backflow device and related friction loss.
b. Cannot determine why the area verifying was chosen since it is not the most remote/demanding.
i. It would appear addressing 11.2.3.3, since the room is outlined for the test is surrounded by walls? If the designer is representing a room design (method), it is unacceptable since no construction information was provided. Please reference 11.2.3.3.3. To utilize the room design method, all rooms (floor) shall be enclosed with walls having a fire-resistance rating equal to the water supply duration indicated in Table 11.2.3.1.1.
ii. To utilize the room design method then information regarding 11.2.3.3.5 should be addressed. Minimum protection of openings for Light hazard - Non-rated automatic or self-closing doors.
iii. Where openings are not protected, calculations shall include the sprinklers in the room plus two sprinklers in the communicating space nearest each such unprotected opening unless the communicating space has only one sprinkler, in which case calculations shall be extended to the operation of that sprinkler. The selection of the room and communicating space sprinklers to be calculated shall be that which produces the greatest hydraulic demand.
Provide a design that can be identified and verified meeting minimum design code addressing one of the following methods, since no other method will apply:
a. 11.2.3.2 Density/Area Method.
b. 11.2.3.3 Room Design Method.

2. The installation and incorporation of mechanical tees involving calculations shall reflect the friction loss for the same, which is normally higher than standard tee fittings.

3. No protection shown in the elevator shaft. Verify this is so. If protection is provided, heads must also be upgraded to Q.R.'s.

4. Stairwell between columns "G" and "F" and "2" and "3," appear to not be included in this permit, even though head count is including it. IFC Fire/Life Safety Inspector verify upgrading of heads to Q.R.'s.
