Description
To remove the existing non-required and non-compliant fire alarm system and install a new elevator recall system. The existing system is a non-required system consisting of four manual pull stations and four horns. The building is not sprinklered, is a B occupancy, and has an occupant load of less than 100 on the second floor. The occupant load information was provided by Mary Froemke. The existing devices are located at the top of the stairwells and at the main floor exits.

The associated building permit (BLD06-00731) is the interior remodel to upgrade the building core restrooms on the first and second floor, to install a new elevator within a one-hour rated elevator shaft, and construct a one-hour rated elevator equipment room in an existing two story building per approved plans. Work to include some miscellaneous interior demolition work, some new one-hour rated corridor walls, some new 20 minute rated corridor doors, new one-hour rated elevator shaft walls and ceiling, new smoke door at elevator opening on first floor, some structural work to existing structure to accommodate new elevator shaft, new concrete elevator pit, other new interior walls, interior finish, some minor suspended ceiling and soffit work, fire alarm work, mechanical work, plumbing work, and electrical work. This permit is attached to the same set of plans along with another permit for work being done under BLD06-00730 in an adjacent building on the site. This is a Scope of Work Permit. A Letter of Completion is to be issued when done. This building is now called River Run Center Bldg. F. (It was formerly called Bldg. B.) NOTE: This building currently has a one-hour rated corridor on the first floor that extends up to the top of the stairways. The second floor currently has a non-rated hallway. The architect will provide one-hour rated walls and 20 minute rated doors at the restrooms on the second floor in case a future one-hour corridor is constructed on this second floor.
