Description
To provide the remainder of the required manual fire alarm system and all items required for a high rise, which will include fire department communication, voice/evac, manual pull stations, HVAC shutdown, elevator recall/shutdown, sprinkler, fire pump and secondary water supply monitoring, fire/smoke damper controls, door release and required automatic detection for floors 4 through 11 and the roof of the building (Hampton Inn). This permit may NOT be finaled until FIR05-00695 has been finaled.

FIR05-00695 was issued as a partial under the shell permit BLD04-02876. This permit was to install the fire alarm system for the parking structure only, partial ground floor, to include a 2-hour rated corridor for fire department access to the Fire Command Center, located on the ground floor. Floors 2 and 3 will be completed. Elevator #4, which serves the ground floor to 4th floor only will be installed and in service. The 4th floor will not be utilized at this time for public use.

The associated building permit (BLD 05-01077) is to finish the tenant improvement for the new 235,965 square foot, eleven story high rise, parking and Hampton Inn hotel portion of this building. The first floor contains 7,775 sq. ft. of retail space (to be finished under separate tenant improvement permits), 9,000 sq. ft. of hotel lobby space and 19,020 sq. ft. of parking garage space (total 35,795 sq. ft.). The second, third and fourth floors are parking garage (34,750 sq. ft. each floor, total of 104,250 sq. ft.). The fifth floor contains hotel rooms, laundry, meeting rooms, exercise room and indoor swimming pool (16,000 sq. ft.). The sixth through eleventh floors contain hotel guest rooms (13,320 sq. ft. per floor, total 79,920 sq. ft.). The fire-resistance rating reductions allowed by IBC, Sections 403.3.1 and 403.3.2 is being used to reduce the required fire-resistive rating from Type IB to Type IIA. The reduction is allowed in this building with the use of sprinkler control valves equipped with supervisory initiating devices and water-flow initiating devices for each floor. The other requirement of this reduction is the construction of two-hour fire-barriers between the first floor mercantile occupancies and the remainder of the building. All construction per the approved plans and attached comment list. JCM BODO BLDG #8-Hampton Inns Hotel/Garage (Tenant Completion) per Cody R. no TEMP occupancy until the DR requirements are met. Exterior Paint color not correct.

Afternoon Inspection BODO 2/12/2007 Mike Timmerman

Inspected last two remaining items on the fire alarm system correction notice. 1. Interrupt Muzac system when fire alarm is in alarm. Tested Pass
2. Check accessible rooms for change out to 177cd visual notification devices. I was told that Forrest agreed if the devices were rotated to where they were not under the room ceiling they would be acceptable as is. Called and left message with Forrest to confirm. OK if this agreement was made.
