I gave Don with Russell Corp. permission to use the phase one area of the third floor. See the building approved plans for the exact location marked and signed by me that was inspected. The items remaining include providing an air balance report for the hood and a K class extinguisher. Only the portion of the phase one area on the third floor alarm was tested. The other area was not complete. The lobby areas of the first and second floor fire alarm was tested. This includes the new facp panel, NAC panel, phone lines and elevator recall. See the approved fire alarm prints for devices marked "ok" that have been tested. Signals have been verified as well. Need 120volt monitoring of the elevator power and the correct orfice in the inspectors test connection. Asbuilts will be required to be submitted to the city prior to final.

10/25/06 Telcon with Amy Wray - she only knows they were told that the FAC has to be replaced and she is trying to use the same approach as they used for Golden Eagle, at 1101 W. River, to extend the time for installing necessary devices in existing tenant spaces. She asked that we contact Dave Maxwell, for details on why and what is being replaced.

10/25/06 - Dave Maxwell indicated the current panel is a SK-5104, 4-zone panel. He observed the system currently only monitors sprinkler waterflow and approximately 11 120v. smoke detectors on the 1st floor where there is also a mag door hold open. He said there is no monitoring of valve tampers, HVAC. He indicated the proposed alarm system was engineered by Synergy and referred me to Kurt Lichtenberg. I told Dave, his plans need to show the 120v smoke detectors as existing and to be monitored by the new panel, because they have to be maintained per IFC 901.6, unless the owner does a Code evaluation showing that they were/are non-required. He requested I contact Kurt about how to re-write their request to the City.

10/25/06- I called Kurt at Synergy. He indicated they looked at the panel and realized the panel did not provide proper sprinkler monitoring and that would have to be corrected at this TI and that there were not enough zones to properly monitor the sprinkler system, the 1st floor smoke detectors, plus, the new cooking hood and new HVAC duct detectors, and therefore recommended replacement of the FACP panel. Realizing this panel replacement would trigger visual devices per IFC 907.10.1, they proposed installing a/v's in the new tenant space and left it to the owner or vendor to request a deferment agreement to install devices in other tenant spaces as TI's occur. I explained how he could help the owner explain in their letter more specifically what they have and why they are replacing it, and specifically what devices in the existing tenant spaces they wish to defer, e.g. a/v's, duct smoke detection. He said he would do that. I faxed him a copy of their request letter to use as a starting point.

10/25/06 Spoke with Marv Meyer, Russell Corp, GC, explained above telcons. He agreed to work with Amy Wray to include reasons why they need 3 years to complete the work and a phased timetable of when plans will be submitted, work begun and final completion date. Agribeef will have two TI's this year to complete the third floor and one next year for half of the 1st floor.

10/25/06 Discussed above with Dave Hanneman.
