Called the electrical contractor Dick Mather ###-####. They would like to have an inspection today, however, the resubmitted plans have not been issued yet. This is keeping the alarm contractor from being able to call in their inspections. We will be going to the site to continue the alarm testing of system devices that are ready for inspection. The electrical contractor told me that the problem with the in room detector sounder bases is still causing problems. They are still working on the problem. Entry made by Mike Timmerman

The fire alarm panel, after testing between two to six room detectors will automatically silence the sounder bases. I do not know if the panel silences all building alarms. Also the data from one of the tenant rooms is being corrupted by the time it is received at the facp and is causing "wave form" errors at the facp. I spoke to the Pyrotronics technical support and they believe that the silencing problem could be a logic/programming issue. They need to view the program to tell. I stopped the inspection out of concerns that if it is a hardware issue all of the items tested would have to be retested when a new panel is installed. Just to make a note when the main fire alarm panel is reset it takes nearly 7 minutes to return to normal. It also takes around 15 seconds to activate the sounder bases in the rooms. I was told this is due to the size of the system and a slow processor in the fire alarm panel. I spoke to Sam Rogers about these concerns. This entry has been made under this permit only due to none access to the other permits because of their being in the "review status"

Miscellaneous action  9/5/2007
The fire alarm vendor brought in a new set of fire alarm plans with plan modifications for review due to the increase in number of fire smoke dampers, fire sprinkler devices, addition of manual pull boxes due to IDHW requirements not IFC. The plans were not acceptable new devices were not shown connected to the initiating circuits, Visual notification in the HC rooms was not shown, Plans now use areas A.B,C,D instead of east, west, south and central wing. This needs to be revised on the resubmitted plans. We have asked the alarm vendor to correct the mistakes and omissions on the fire alarm plans, before we take them in. 9-5-07
