This permit is to install a new fire alarm control panel, elevator lobby and equipment room smoke detectors and other required addressable devices for control of a newly installed elevator. It was determined by the owner and the fire alarm vendor that the existing FACP would not be able to accommodate the requirements necessary for elevator control. A new upgrade agreement has been enacted deferring the required audible visual notification requirements when a fire alarm panel is replaced until year 2008. Permit BLD06-001463 is to construct an interior elevator to serve the 2nd story of an existing building. The 2nd story will be expanded by about 75 square feet. Work is to include concrete footings, a concrete foundation, a masonry shaft for the elevator, a steel column, steel beams, a concrete floor, interior nonbearing walls, tunneled 1-hr corridor, relocated corridor doors, and an elevator machine room.
