Received UW test report. Document Attached. Actual test: 78 psi static, 2871 gpm @ 20 psi but UW requested this NOT be used for sprinkler design but to use 55 static, 3500 gpm @ 20 psi to allow for seasonal variations.

Telcon from Jeff ar Mr. Sprinkler, ###-####, re hydrostatic test pressure to use for new work, since normal system pressure they have observed is 195, will they have to test at 245? We decided "No". Will test at standard 200 psi since none of the system is designed for high pressure and it is presumed all existing systems were tested at 200psi. The high pressure apparently results from the fire pump churn pressure, which may be due to increased supply pressure after UW upgraded the grid in the area to provide the required higher fire flow for the new addition. We will work directly with UW and WPS on resolving the overpressure situation. Advised Forrest of this situation and to use 200 psi test pressure.

Today the building permit plans associated with these racks were reviewed and approved by Fire and this sprinkler permit has been attached to that permit BLD07-02475. However, the issued sprinkler plan review comments which are now onsite, indicate an incorrect bldg permit number shown on the sprinkler application (BLD06-01697). I called Joel at Mr. Sprinkler and advised we can proceed to conduct sprinkler inspections as soon as the rack permit (BLD07-02475) has been approved and issued by the Building Dept.
Telephone call  10/23/2007 DONE
Telcon form Joel, Mr. Sprinkler, ###-#### requesting preliminary inspection of the first two levels of sprinlers which have been installed. I indicated we stil do not have an approved building permit for these racks and we won't proceed with sprinkler inspections until there a building permit has been obtained for the installation of these racks. We both agreed to look into the rack permit situation further.
Telephone call  9/6/2007 DONE
telcon with Joel of Mr. Sprinkler. Owner wants approval to occupy racks as in rack sprinklers are installed on each level (Each level of sprinklers has its own control valve). I indicated they have to have "approval" of the structural racks prior to any storage in the racks under the BLD permit. Then fire would be willing "consider" a request to allow the top level (4th level) which is protected by ceiling sprinklers only to be occupied, and then the 1st level when that level of IR's are installed and approved, then 2nd when it is finished and finally the 3rd level. However, the owner needs to request that approval from us, preferably in writing, as the approval goes to the owner, (not the sprinkler contractor) and there may be conditions which have to be adhered to. I gave him my cell number for the owner to contact me.
