Description
The Permitted Work Scope: Over Head Only
Modify the existing system by adding, removing and relocating heads to accommodate a new wall and ceiling layout in the Electronics area. On the sales floor, heads will be cut back and relocated into a new elevated grid. This review is limited to the interior of the project as described in the BLD permit scope. There were no overhead doors or exterior work associated with the future Garden Center expansion submitted under this review.
The fire sprinkler system work shall comply with the IFC 2003, the attached review comments/conditions, as regulated by the Fire Chief. The review comments/conditions, permit and fire "Inspection Card" are required to be on site as a condition of this work, to provide witness of compliance verification of minimum code. This permit is attached to BLD07-00948. When tenant work affects fire sprinkler protection outside the permitted work area due to the installation of tenant-demising or new partition walls, the affected area sprinkler coverage outside the BLD permit will fall under the Fire Permit scope of work, to maintain the required fire protection within the fire sprinklered facility. The “Riser” and its supplies which include all appurtenances (including tamper, alarm and alarm monitoring) relating to the normal and correct function and integrity of this system will fall under the jurisdiction for code compliant verification.

401canopies need to be installed in the restrooms where lights are blocking pendant heads. One head needs to be added at a fixture on the sales floor and two heads are located too close to one another at another fixture on the sales floor. Plans need to be resubmitted to the city of boise due to the amount of added heads caused by the fixtures. The scope of work calls for the air compressor to be changed out which has not been done yet.

Inspection was for the men's restroom but the fire sprinkler contractor did not have the approved plans. We went to the bakery and I showed him the overspaced heads there.

Plans have been issued; per telcons with Jeff Diehl and Troy Cobbley the runner has not arrived with the plans yet. I called the Shilo contact shown under "people" and requested he call in and schedule the inspection they are waiting to do; he confirmed the runner is enroute with the plans.

Telcon with Jeffery Diehl, ESI Const. He indicated the remodeled Electronics and Sales Areas are barricaded off to keep public out and the sprinklers in these areas were modified under the Early Start permit and are now competed, in-service and ready for final inspection. He requested approval to stock the fixtures with merchandise tonight and to open to public tomorrow. Subsequent telcons with Dave Hanneman and Bryan Johnson, and discussions with J. Gilliland and Dan Stuart, regarding background and expediting sprinkler plan review. I gave approval for the storage fixtures to be stocked with merchandise but no public occupancy is allowed until the sprinklers and building/fire life safety inspections are satisfactorily completed and signed off. Sprinkler plan review is expected to be completed tonight and permit should be ready to issue tomorrow morning and we will inspect immediately; I advised Troy to expect a reinspection request for tomorrow about 11:00am. Mr. Diehl said they had already spoken with the building inspector about doing an inspection of those areas only, for "partial" approval to occupy (i.e. open to public) these two spaces. The remainder of the TI and garden addition areas will be completed later.
