This fire alarm permit is to construct and complete the 1st floor corridor in the Royal Plaza building. This permit does not allow occupancy. The building fire alarm system includes, but is not limited to a required manual and automatic fire alarm system to include fire alarm initiating devices, notification appliances, fire command center, voice evacuation, fire fighter communications (phones), fire sprinkler and fire pump monitoring, HVAC duct smoke detectors, in-duct smoke detection, fire smoke dampers, elevator recall, shunt trip and offsite reporting. Building Permit # BLD07-01082 is to construct a 785 square foot entrance/elevator/stairway lobby on the 1st story of a high-rise building to serve the dwelling units located on the upper stories. In addition, to construct a 497 square foot corridor on the 1st story to connect the new lobby to an existing 2-hr stairway exit passageway. The corridor will likely serve as a secondary means of egress from future retail sales tenants. Work is to include 1-hr walls, 20 minute doors, suspended gypsum board ceilings, suspended acoustical ceilings, and finishes. The lobby and corridor are NOT required to be fire-resistance-rated enclosures by the building code. The construction proposed will exceed the requirements of the code. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes. The fire sprinkler system is required to comply with NFPA 13 as regulated by the Fire Department. **CJW**
