Description
Original Permitted Work Scope:
This existing bldg. is being modified to include a new 6”wet riser with a back flow device to serve through out the proposed spec warehouse space with future rack storage. The existing sprinkler system was earlier demolished and removed under a separate permit. (FIR07-00568) Any plans for a future rack system will have to be submitted for approval under a separate permit. This building is to be fully fire sprinklered. The fire sprinkler system work shall comply with IFC 2003, attached review comment and conditions list, as regulated by the Fire Chief. These notes, permit and fire "Inspection Card" are required to be on site as a condition of this work, to provide witness of compliance verification of minimum code. This permit is attached to BLD07-00569.
When tenant work affects fire sprinkler protection outside the permitted work area due to the installation of tenant-demising or new partition walls, the affected area sprinkler coverage outside the BLD permit will fall under the Fire Permit scope of work, to maintain the required fire protection within the fire sprinklered facility. The “Riser” and its supplies which include all appurtenances (including tamper, alarm and alarm monitoring) relating to the normal and correct function and integrity of this system will fall under the jurisdiction for code compliant verification

These plans were denied for the following reasons but are not limited to just these reasons as a complete review of the plans and calculations could not be performed. Note this was a plan modification of a previously approved plan.
* The friction loss for a 4” Wilkins 350 flowing 696.9 gpm is 10 psi. Taking this into consideration, this system will not achieve the minimum requirement of 5% remaining supply. In-fact the system will be around -2.5 lb below the 0 mark. Please revise the plans and resubmit ASAP.
Upon request the denied set of plan may be retrieved from my office for salvage. Plans will be maintained for 5 business days.
