Description	Revised Scope of Work: The contractor made revisions in the field during construction that resulted in complete resubmittal of the calculations and piping plan. The revisions included pipe size changes and adjustments to the hydraulic and seismic calculations. The revision is dated 06/27/08 and noted to be Rev 1. The original plans were approved with conditions on 12/07/07. During the second review, all of the original conditions of approval were verified for compliance. Scope of Work: To install a complete wet pipe system in a new 55,415-ft/2, two story building designed for parts storage. This building is fully fire sprinklered. The fire sprinkler system work shall comply with the IFC 2003, the attached review comments/conditions, as regulated by the Fire Chief. The review comments/conditions, permit and fire "Inspection Card" are required to be on site as a condition of this work, to provide witness of compliance verification of minimum code. The underground supply was permitted separately under FIR07-00812. Both this and the underground permits are attached to building permit: BLD07-01884.

Herb, the GC, called inquiring about the progress of the fire sprinkler plan review. Informed Herb that the fire sprinkler plan reviewer has the fire sprinkler plans in his posession and the only case notes state that the "plans are on hold unitl further information recieved". Recommended he contact the sprinkler designer and/or permit applicant, American Fire Protection, to recieve further information regarding the delay of sprinkler plan approval.

Noted Conditions of Approval:

1. Provide an exterior control valve as required. An exterior indicating control valve is required for the fire sprinkler system in this building and provided with valve identification signage. (BMC 7-01-53 IFC 903.1.3) To be field verified. (Field verified by Inspector France but not reflected on the As-Builts)

2. The truck wash bay piping and material shall be corrosion resistant. Where corrosive conditions exist or piping is exposed to the weather, corrosion-resistant types of pipe, fittings, and hangers or protective corrosion-resistant coatings shall be used. (NFPA 13-7.7.5, 8.15.3.2.1*) To be field verified. (Not Verified or reflected on As-Builts)

3. Prior to final approval, an approved rack layout shall be verified to include 19’-0” maximum storage height in the parts warehouse in a single or double row rack configuration with 8’-0” aisles. (Rack Plans were submitted under a separate BLD permit and verified by inspector France. Racks were reflected on the As-Builts as an outline only)

Verified some items per the C/N are finished including added heads at the wash bay, added seismic brace, spacing at the compressor room. Noted fire alarm work is nearly complete including tamper and flow switch wiring and FACP installation prior to the issuance of a fire alarm permit. Double permit fees will apply.

OH hydrostatic testing for both wet systems passed. OH rough-in failed due to overspaced heads at the wash bay, blocked heads at the compressor room, missing EQ brace at the 4" main NE corner of the warehouse, need to provide resubmittals for pipe size changes at the north office areas, some finish items at the riser are not complete including flex. couplings, FDC ball drip, head box, tagged DCVA, etc.
