Description	Original Scope of Work: The scope if work includes modifying the existing wet system to meet requirements through out the heated spaces. The existing wet system will be modified by adding and relocating heads in the corridors and adding a new system in the new construction areas. An antifreeze system will be added to serve the cold breeze way. The existing riser shall be modified to include a listed double check back flow device. The fire sprinkler system work shall comply with the IFC 2003, the attached review comments/conditions, as regulated by the Fire Chief. The review comments/conditions, permit and fire "Inspection Card" are required to be on site as a condition of this work, to provide witness of compliance verification of minimum code. This permit is attached to building permit: BLD07-01834. Valley View Retirement Center: Skilled Nursing Facility FIR07-01032 Revised Scope of work: 1.Replace standard response heads in the corridors, remodeled areas and the residences rooms only to a quick response type. 2. Add a forward flow device to the existing fire sprinkler riser room. 3. Add a new backflow device to the existing fire sprinkler system. 3. Add to the existing fire sprinkler systems to accommodate the new additions.

Ballooned sections of the plans were reviewed due to plan modification. Several areas were marked in red on the plans. The marked areas require verification that the areas are non-combustible as defined in NFPA 13: 8.15.1.1 Concealed Spaces Requiring Sprinkler Protection. All concealed spaces enclosed wholly or partly by exposed combustible construction shall be protected by sprinklers except in concealed spaces where sprinklers are not required to be installed by 8.15.1.2.1 through 8.15.1.2.16 and 8.15.6. If the areas are not non combustible as defined above then additional sprinklers are required.

In addition, one sprinkler was to close to another and could cause a cold soldering problem.
