overhead and underground - Install new 6" Underground supply, 4 remote FDC line. Installation per NFPA 24 requiments.Scope of Work: Underground & Overhead
Beginning from an existing 6" stub in at the property line, run 90' of 6" C900 underground piping out and rise up into the bldg with 6" C-900 as indicated on sheet FP-1. A remote FDC will be installed including a 72' run of 4" C-900 to be buried in the same ditch as the 6" supply. The riser room of this new 120,805-ft/2 bldg. will be located on the North side of the structure. The over head portion of the project includes installing three wet pipe system risers to serve through out the bldg. The fire sprinkler system work shall comply with the IFC 2003, the attached review comments/conditions, as regulated by the Fire Chief. The review comments/conditions, permit and fire "Inspection Card" are required to be on site as a condition of this work, to provide witness of compliance verification of minimum code. This permit is attached to building permit: BLD07-01910
03/16/08 Plan Review Comments:
Plans were resubmitted to include the first floor piping plan and supporting calculations. The previous partially approved plans from 01/18/08 included the complete underground, riser detail and second floor piping only. Revisions to the underground have also been submitted for review with in this submittal dated 02/22/08. This review will be of a complete set of overhead and underground plans and supporting data.

Todays inspection covered the fire sprinkler device interconnections with the facp which passed. Also the forward flush passed. The sprinkler contractor is going to coordinate with the fire alarm contractor the riser descriptions so they match the what is listed on the facp. Ceiling tile was missing and the zone map has not been provided yet.

The inspection was for the arm over/drops on the second floor. All of the arm over/drops are ok but it appears that a rough-in inspection for the main/branchline piping has not been performed. At this inspection I did not see a computer entry or markings on the plans indicating the inspection. Due to time limitations the fire sprinkler contractor is scheduling another inspection for tomorrow for a job site meeting to discuss this issue. I also found the second floor 2" west main did not have any earthquake bracing and a branchline located in the library had ceiling grid wire attached to it down its entire length.
