This permit is to install a non required fire alarm system in a new Applebee's Restaurant. The fire alarm system proposed includes manual pull stations at the building exits, area smoke and heat detection and audible visual notification throughout. Building permit # BLD07-01714 is to construct a new 5,520 square foot, one story restaurant building and related site improvements. This building is constructed of masonry exterior walls and steel roof joist system. This building is designed with two-hour fire-resistive fire barrier walls at the perimeter of the restrooms, the water heater room and the liquor storage closet. There is also a two-hour fire resistive fire barrier separating the roof covered yard and outside storage rooms from the main restaurant building. This is being done to reduce the A-2 restaurant occupancy fire area to less than 5,000 square feet to avoid the fire sprinkler requirement.
