These plans were submitted as an As-Built of the project Scope of Work:
(ST. MICHAEL'S EPISCOPAL CHURCH - BISHOP TUTTLE HOUSE AND SITE WORK - PHASE I) The Bishop Tuttle House and the Funsten House will be fire sprinklered for story increase and for code trade-offs. To remodel the 3,424 square foot basement and 3,616 square foot 1st story of the Bishop Tuttle House of St. Michael's Episcopal Church. A 950 square foot 1st story mezzanine addition will also be constructed. The Bishop Tuttle House and the Funsten house will be fully fire sprinklered in conjunction with this permit. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes. The fire sprinkler system is required to comply with NFPA 13 as regulated by the Fire Department. The combination of parcels must be completed before this permit is given a final. The fire sprinkler system work shall comply with the IFC 2006, the attached review comments/conditions, as regulated by the Fire Chief. The review comments/conditions, permit and fire "Inspection Card" are required to be on site as a condition of this work, to provide witness of compliance verification of minimum code. This permit is attached to building permit: BLD07-01784. This permit is not attached to any other permit.

Walk-in meeting with Laura Bachelor, Cooperative Preschool at St. Michaels (###-####) inquiring if the City had ordered her preschool to vacate the building as a result of the recent "failed" sprinkler inspection. I indicated the PDS/Fire Division had not done so and that per my discussion with Carl Westfall, (building plan reviewer), the City had not required the building to be vacated during the Building permit construction period. I indicated it may be necessary to vacate the area for practical purposes to accommodate the additional sprinkler work and related construction work but that decision would be the building owner's, not the City's in this case.

Resubmittals are needed showing the upright heads being changed to pendant heads, added upright heads in the daycare/remote area, and all of the added pendants in the closets. The entire space above the ceiling, in the daycare, will need to be covered with sprinklers or a code based solution provided. Access shall be provided to view the dry upright sprinkler heads. The uprights have been deleted from the corridors but there is exposed wood above the ceilings in the corridors. Reducing fittings have been used and are not allowed per NFPA 13 unless the exception is met.
